So THAT is what is "wrong" with em!

Conservatives are now thought to have a "brain disorder".

check out the article, careful though you may just spew coffee on your keyboard at the absurdity:

Well, I DID warn ya! LOL!

Why not all conservatives go on "disability", maybe the system will crash that much sooner....?

Animal Behavior in Humans....is this a peek into the future?

I found this video on Black Friday Shoppers and it is quite interesting. I hope it posts.

Got a hangover?

Cure it with a glass of milk and honey on toast!

well, it might just work.

Check out THIS article that talks about it all.

Did Jesus heal with POT???

Ok, were the miracles that Jesus did really "pot" induced?

Found an article, here is an excerpt:

"As the day of Jesus' birth sweeps across the land, a sect of Christians will be celebrating with more than Christmas trees. A rising tide of Christians not only smoke pot, but think Jesus used the drug. They're gaining mainstream legitimacy, challenging religious and political dogma, and sometimes going to jail for their faith in unprecedented numbers. Sure, Jesus rocked some sandals, a beard, robes, and a message of everlasting love, but did he round out his hippie persona with dope?"

you can find the whole article right HERE

Now personally, I believe Jesus was the Son of God and his miracles were done with the power of his God.

But the article was interesting and pot does have many medicinal uses. It's only when it is abused that I worry.

can your faith cost you a job?

It seems it may have for THIS professor.

I find myself in the same quandary. While I knew ahead of time that I would be judged "unworthy" or "not quite smart enough" due to my faith; after there ARE so many in the field of science that think there is NO ROOM for GOD in there; I was surprised at just how much it has been so. And I was also surprised by just HOW MANY HIDE their faith. Oh yeah, there are those who pretend to be of no faith.

I myself, cannot hide my faith. My reasoning is: if God did create everything, then he is the greatest scientist of all. I'm not afraid to acknowledge a God nor the wondrous things he has created! Including all the processes which keep it all going.

I mean do evolutionists REALLY think that creationists believe that God is independently creating each and every living thing even now? Yes they do.

I see so many evolutionists who have false ideas about what many creationists believe; but in their behalf, I ALSO see many creationists who have false ideas about what many evolutionists believe.

I will never look at pumpkin pies the same way again....

A Plant That Out Grows its Container Needs to Be:

A very nice example of how WE can grow spiritually and since I am a budding botanist, appropriate: (totally snagged from a friends facebook, thanks sis!aka: Loida Samson)

A plant that outgrows its container needs to be re-potted, or transplanted into a larger area or else it withers or eventually dies. A good gardener needs to look for ways to promote growth. During springtime, plants need to be replanted to allow them REJUVENATE . Re-potting is our term for transplanting our self into a larger growth environment. Just as gardener, we look for ways to rejuvenate our lives.

Lessons from gardening:

Rethinking the landscape

Just as some plants need different environment to thrive, we need to adapt new perspective and start thinking in new ways. Reassessing the most important things, trading-off things and the likes are just some of the steps to successful re-potting of our lives. We try our best to bring more light and meaning into our personal garden by RETHINKING, REASSESSING our personal landscape and RE-SHIFTING our priorities.

Realize that planting is a process

Slowing down, creating time in our schedule are just some ways of letting our personal garden undergo a process. We don`t need to be afraid of "empty spaces". We have to cut back on our hectic schedule and utilize the free time slots with enriching and life-saving activities, this includes sharing the good news to others.

Let in more light

Maybe our plants need more light to grow . Similarly, for us to grow , it is essential to let our minds open to new possibilities and set attainable goals. If our lifestyle is constraining us (or even suffocating us) why don`t we choose to let more light in our lives in favor of a less constraining and simple life?

Tend your garden regularly

Whatever undertakings, whether it`s work, field ministry, or pursuing a new hobby and so on, we do something every single day to make a progress. We don`t let distractions take energies away from the tasks necessary to achieve our goals.

Cultivate your dreams

We can unleash our creativity side by allowing new ideas, concepts, and avenues run free in our minds. We can visualize our future lives under the new system of things for example. Would we be building our dream homes in pink (smile here) or yellow? Why not? We can let our imagination take over the current role we have and act in accordance with our dreams. It necessitates to work towards that goal and let the mind free for such.

Water your roots

We find the core values that motivate us. We make sure that the life we are living in is in sync with our deepest values and priorities. If we lack the spiritual goal and motivation, we see what we can do to realign to that.

Don`t forget fertilizer

Remember that when we expand our knowledge, we also expand our options. For personal growth, learning is crucial-whether we are pursuing a new hobby or realizing our new goals. The stimulation of learning fosters new growth and change at any age.

Plant a sample bed

Until we try a plant in our own personal garden, we would never know exactly if the conditions are right for growth. If that is not the case, we can always rip it out and try another one. Start all over again. Embrace trial and error method. No master is born.

Get input from other gardeners (this is the most important part)

One who instructs himself has a fool for a master. Top into our network- family, friends, and colleagues -whoever may be able to give us feedback. We benefit most from the wise advise coming from the source of all wisdom, the Bible. The great Gardener of all, Jehovah is the best adviser we can have.

Weed your garden

We have to eliminate the non-essentials, those weeds which hinder us from growing. We make a systematic and disciplined approach on how we get rid of them. It demands strong hands to pull them out, yes, we might be requiring a weed remover too. As long as there are personal weeds, our personal plants can not grow. If we allow vices, wrong desires, bad entertainment, vicious motives and so on thrive in our lives, they will soon take over our personal garden. It craves that we constantly remove those unnecessary and un-useful personal weeds in order for our garden to grow and aggrandize.

relaxin'

Different people have different ways to relax. I have a hundred and one....at least. lol!

One thing that really brings me peace and 'centers' me is playing in the dirt. yep, you read that right: playing in the dirt. I love to piddle in the garden and I got to do that these past couple days. I started a few seeds and cleaned up some of my garden.

I do not seem to relax while playing online....

Coffee also relaxes me.... until I've drank too much, then I just get paranoid, lol!

I also love snugglin' with my grandson! He and I will sit in my chair and just relax. Until he has had enough of relaxin' that is...which is usually about two minutes. But those two minutes are great, we talk...or rather he babbles and I listen and babble back.

take care and have a great day!

A History Lesson from "cuppajoe" from backwoods home!

For those that don't know about history ... Here is a condensed version:

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic
hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer
and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer
and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the
beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were
the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:

1 . Liberals
2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of
agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so
while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented,
they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at night while
they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the
Conservative movement...

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off
the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ's and doing the sewing,
fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. They became known
as girlie-men.Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication
of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of
Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that
conservatives provided.

Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most
powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the
jackass for obvious reasons.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white
wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish

but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard
liberal fare.. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of their
women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers,
personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group
therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule
because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer, mostly Bud or Miller. They eat red meat
and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big game hunters, rodeo
cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police
officers, engineers, corporate executives, athletes, members of the
military, airline pilots and generally anyone who works productively.

Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work
for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers
and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are
more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained
in Europe when conservatives were coming to America . They crept in after
the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for
nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history:

It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to
angrily respond to the above before forwarding it.

A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth
of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true
believers and to more liberals just to piss them off.

And there you have it. Let your next action reveal your true self.....I'm
going to have another beer.

That first sip....

There is just something about that first sip of hot coffee or hot tea when it is cold outside and you are still half asleep....

Makes you warm inside and you give a slow lazy smile.

Ahhhhh.... love it.

I never did even like or want to like coffee UNTIL Jude! My wonderful friend and neighbor when I was about 23 or so. This woman is absolutely great and she can make coffee to die for! She is the one who fixed me my first cup of coffee. HEAVENLY!!!

LOL! Jude is someone very special. She has a strong personality and is firm in her standards. She literally has been through hell and back.

And she can cook! She and I had a great agreement, I buy food for her and her family and she would cook for me! I was at the time in a very good position to buy a lot of food for very little and was happy to help her and her family out since her husband was out of work. It was a win win for me because she cooked for me and my son quite often. I'll never be able to cook like that, lol!

Anyways, Jude is the one who got me hooked on coffee. I don't know how many times we would sit in her dining area drinking coffee and talk about the 'deep things' of life.

So here's to you Jude! :)

No better way to get your way

Saw a news item today about the cyber attacks due to the arrest of the founder of Wikileaks.

Ok, HE seems to be for full disclosure, even if it endangers the security of a country. Well, his followers/supporters decided to protest by the massive amounts of cyber attacks on capitalistic websites: credit cards, etc...

ok...... why not attack government sites? And are these cyber-terrorists (as they have now been labeled) not against MORE government control over the internet? yet their very actions are pushing for MORE governmental control.

So it seems that the effect of the attackers is actually going to support the government in the increase of their control over the internet. buh bye internet freedom!

Now the question begs, are those so called cyber-terrorists REALLY "protesting" the control the government already has OR are they actually working FOR the governments and doing all this mayhem in order to help the governments gain more control?

Reminds me of those eco-terrorists who go way beyond and extreme to protest, just so those "more sane" eco-'friendly' groups are getting their goals done because they are "settled for".

Make sense? lol! Just think about it. Let us say you wanted to get your goal of "A" done; but it was just kinda extreme; would not someone who had a much more extreme goal of "B" and actually tried it - was rejected.... would that not suddenly make your goal of "A" much more acceptable just because it would NOT be "as bad as B"? It sure would!

Yep, same way as a kid, when you went to mommy and asked for horse but 'settled' for a puppy.... which is all that you really wanted to begin with.

Now ya get it!!! Now get ready for MORE gov control in the internet!

have a great day!

communication

A fairly long word: communication.

But a very important word. Communication is the key in any and all relationships. Not just family, friends, school, etc. But also the doctor - patient relationship.

DUH! Seems most everyone agrees on this but that agreement doesn't seem to be getting it done.

LOOK HERE FOR SURVEY ARTICLE

Both patients and doctors agree that good communication can be the key to saving lives; yet there is not good communication.

Could it be because doctors just don't care about their patients? After all, many patients now attempt to diagnosis themselves (thank you internet) and have no problem spilling their opinions to the doctor..... right?

Or could it be that doctors are so over booked (whose fault is that?) and cannot devote enough time to actually listen to the patients?

This seems to be the main problem: not enough time/too many patients. Which by the way will only get worse as more doctors step out of the field and get replaced with Nurse Practitioners. Who have far less training.

Oh yeah, the scene of the medical field/health care IS indeed changing!

And it is not for the better, IMHO.

Now a word or two about my Son

Ah yes, the apple of my eye! lol! He is an adult now with one son of his own and another on the way.

I think (I hope) he is finally growing up. maybe.

This child of mine is definitely my kid. He is stubborn, opinionated, hardheaded, manipulative, and cranky.

Today, he fixed the dry wall on two of my kitchen walls and painted my hall way. :)

And he managed to get out of bed and be here by 8am! that in itself is a feat and an half for him. He brought his girl friend and his son whom I got to love and dote on which always makes my day.

I must also say that my son's son, is definitely my grandson! He is stubborn, opinionated, hardheaded, manipulative, and cranky.

HAHAHAHAHA~!
